These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of NewHire ("NewHire", "NewHire.ca", "we", "us" or "our"), our website, platform, community, services and related features (collectively, the "Services").
By creating an account, accessing the Services or participating in the NewHire community, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Services.
1. About NewHire
NewHire is a free career community for technology professionals and people interested in building careers in Canada's technology sector.
Our Services may include:
Career and employment opportunities
Job listings and job-related information
Mentorship opportunities
Professional networking
Community discussions
Career advice and resources
Resume advice and resources
Articles, guides and educational content
Events and community activities
Member profiles and communications

NewHire is a community platform. We are not an employer, employment agency, immigration consultant, recruiter or legal advisor unless we expressly state otherwise for a particular service.
2. Eligibility
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and must be legally capable of entering into these Terms.
If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use NewHire only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian where required by law.
NewHire is primarily intended for people who are building, seeking or exploring careers in Canada's technology sector.
3. Membership
Membership is currently free.
Creating an account does not guarantee employment, mentorship, interviews, networking opportunities or any other particular outcome.
We may introduce additional services in the future. If a service requires payment, we will clearly disclose the applicable fees and terms before charging you.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activities carried out through your account.
If you believe that someone has accessed your account without authorization, please notify us promptly.
4. Your Profile
You may create a professional profile and provide information such as:
Name
Professional title
Location
Professional experience
Education
Skills
Career interests
Employment preferences
Mentorship interests
Resume or CV information
Links to professional profiles or portfolios
Other information you choose to provide
You are responsible for ensuring that information you provide is accurate and does not misrepresent your qualifications, experience or identity.
You should not publish information that you do not have permission to disclose.
You should also consider carefully what information you make publicly visible through your profile.
5. Community Content
NewHire may allow members to post, upload, submit or otherwise share content, including comments, questions, discussions, resumes, professional information, photographs, links and other materials ("Member Content").
You retain ownership of your Member Content.
By submitting Member Content to NewHire, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute and otherwise use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain and improve the Services and provide the features you have requested.
This licence ends within a reasonable period after you delete the relevant content or account, except where we are required or permitted to retain the content for legal, security, dispute-resolution or legitimate operational purposes.
You are responsible for the Member Content you submit.
Do not upload or share:
False or misleading information
Content that violates another person's privacy
Confidential employer or client information
Trade secrets
Copyrighted material you do not have permission to use
Passwords or authentication credentials
Government identification numbers
Financial account information
Content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, discriminatory or harassing
Malicious software or harmful code
6. Community Standards
NewHire exists to help people connect and support one another.
Members are expected to behave professionally and respectfully.
You must not use the Services to:
Harass, threaten or intimidate another person
Discriminate against others
Engage in hate speech
Impersonate another person or organization
Publish deliberately deceptive information
Spam other members
Send unsolicited promotional messages
Solicit members for fraudulent schemes
Collect another member's personal information without authorization
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts or systems
Upload malware or other harmful material
Use the platform for unlawful purposes
Interfere with the operation of the Services
Circumvent security or access controls
Scrape or systematically collect member information without our permission
Use NewHire to facilitate scams or fraudulent employment offers
We may remove content or restrict accounts where we reasonably believe these standards have been violated.
7. Jobs and Employment Opportunities
NewHire may display job listings and other employment opportunities submitted by employers, recruiters, community members or third parties.
NewHire does not guarantee that:
A job is legitimate
A job remains available
The information in a job posting is accurate
An employer will contact you
You will be interviewed
You will receive an offer
An employer will hire you
A particular employer is suitable for you
You are responsible for independently evaluating employment opportunities.
Be cautious when an individual or organization asks you to:
Pay money to obtain employment
Purchase equipment from a particular supplier
Provide passwords or banking credentials
Provide unnecessary identity documents
Send money by wire transfer, cryptocurrency or gift card
Move communications to an unusual or suspicious platform
If you believe a job posting or employment opportunity is fraudulent, please report it to us.
8. Mentorship
NewHire may facilitate connections between members for mentorship purposes.
Mentors and mentees are independent members of the community. NewHire does not guarantee the qualifications, experience, conduct, availability or suitability of any mentor or mentee.
Mentorship is not a substitute for professional legal, financial, immigration, medical, psychological or other regulated professional advice.
You are responsible for deciding what information to share with a mentor or mentee and for evaluating advice you receive.
NewHire is not responsible for the actions, advice, statements or conduct of community members.
9. Career and Resume Advice
NewHire may provide educational content, recommendations, templates, resume guidance, career information and other resources.
These resources are provided for general informational and educational purposes only.
They are not guarantees of employment and should not be treated as individualized legal, immigration, financial or professional advice.
You remain responsible for your own career decisions and applications.
10. Networking and Communications
NewHire may provide tools that allow members to communicate with one another.
You are responsible for communications you initiate and receive through the Services.
Do not share sensitive personal information with another member unless you are comfortable doing so and have a legitimate reason to share it.
NewHire cannot guarantee that another member will keep information confidential.
We may provide tools to report inappropriate behaviour, spam, harassment, fraud or other violations.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may contain links to third-party websites, services, employers, job boards, social networks or other resources.
We do not control those third parties and are not responsible for their content, security, privacy practices, availability or conduct.
Your use of third-party services is governed by the third party's own terms and policies.
12. Intellectual Property
The NewHire name, branding, website design, software, original content, graphics, logos and other materials provided by NewHire are owned by or licensed to NewHire and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Except as expressly permitted by us, you may not reproduce, distribute, modify, sell, license, reverse engineer or commercially exploit our materials.
You may use NewHire content for your personal, non-commercial career-development purposes, subject to these Terms.
13. Reporting Content
If you believe that content or conduct on NewHire violates these Terms, infringes your rights or creates a safety concern, please contact us at:

14. Account Suspension and Termination

15. Availability of the Services
We will make reasonable efforts to keep NewHire available and functioning, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

16. No Guarantee of Results
NewHire is designed to help people access information, opportunities and professional connections.
However, we cannot guarantee any particular career result.
We do not guarantee that using NewHire will result in:
Employment
A promotion
A salary increase
A successful career change
Immigration or work authorization
A successful interview
A mentorship relationship
A particular professional connection
Career outcomes depend on many factors outside our control.
17. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Services and their content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We make no warranties or representations regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability or suitability of the Services or information available through them.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, NewHire and its directors, officers, employees, contractors and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Services.
This includes, where permitted by law, loss of employment, income, business opportunities, data, reputation or professional opportunities.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless NewHire and its directors, officers, employees, contractors and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities and expenses arising from:
